EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 4K TV AND UHD

2017-01-05

We’ve come a long way since conventional televisions, there are new technologies such as Curved televisions, HD Upscaling, 4K, Smart TV, and many other fantastic features which enhance the user experience.

The most important term being used today is 4K. We started with standard definition resolutions, until ten years ago when high-definition took over.

What exactly is 4K?

4K refers to a resolution of 4,096 x 2160 pixels. That's four times the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels found in your full HD TV.

What are the benefits of 4K?

4K has four times as many pixels as 1080p, which adds better definition and clarity to the picture. What this means is incredibly lifelike and detailed images, even at screen sizes over 50”.

4K images also tend to be smoother and have more detail than the 1080p image. Higher pixel count of a 4K screen also allows for a more natural representation of a picture, with smoother outlines for distinct objects and added detail in the image.

What is 4K Upscaling?

4K TVs can perform a process called Upscaling which increases the pixel count of a lower-resolution image, and therefore allowing a picture meant for a screen with fewer pixels to fit a screen with many more. However since the amount of information in the signal doesn’t change, there won’t be more detail present.
